Lockport grew up around the Illinois and Michigan Canal, and its downtown still follows the old canal corridor beside the Des Plaines River valley in Will County. Illinois Routes 7 and 171 both pass through town. Lockport is where I am based, so a Lockport event is the one place where travel barely enters the conversation. As The Perceptionist, I bring close-up magic and mentalism to gatherings where the guests are acquainted.
A gathering where everyone is connected
At a birthday dinner or a neighborhood celebration, the guest list may be held together by shared history. That changes how magic should feel. I prefer to keep the moments quiet and personal, so the honoree hears people laughing instead of watching a spectacle. A restaurant buyout can support several small visits, while a backyard party may only need a single moment at the right time.
Wedding weekends and receptions
Wedding weekends stretch across a rehearsal dinner, a ceremony, and a reception, each with a different mood. Close-up magic gives guests something to share while photographs, room changes, and dinner service unfold. I can keep the work compact enough for a patio, a dining room, or the space between them. If your venue spreads guests across indoor and outdoor areas, tell me where guests will move between spaces.
Planning close to base
From my Lockport base, the drive across town is roughly 5 to 20 minutes, even with traffic or a train stopped at a crossing. That lets me arrive with time to look at the room instead of racing the clock. Travel is minimal, so I price it accordingly. If your plans are still loose, a town and a rough guest count are enough to begin.
